Just wanted to let everyone know who might care...and a few people who might not...
I'm getting published.
I sent off a signed contract for a small, moralistic, saccrine piece that I wrote because I have a policy of writing whatever comes to me...not looking a gift muse in the mouth...ya know? Anyway, the piece is called "Promise", and it will be published online in a webzine called "Knights, Dragons and Angels" It's a Christian Science Fiction/ Fantasy webzine.
I actually kind of like the piece because it's a simple, charming story about conflict between a young man just coming of age and his dad...and it's sort of sweet...and a nice break from the deluge of pain, angst, blood, sweat, guts, and violence that is the hallmark of much of my stuff.
For this I will be paid the princely sum of $5.00....which is a hell of a promotion over the "Yeah we'll publish it for $0.00" that I got for some of my poetry...and the "Sorry, you're not our type" letters that I was getting...and hey, it's not like I'm writing for Guidepost or anything...
...so...I only have to produce and sell 10, 000 of these babies every year and I'm set!
