Sky High

     We went to see Sky High the other day.  My first comment is:

     “How did we get almost all the way through the summer before finally getting a decent summer movie?”

     Summer movies are supposed to be light romps, peppered with a little wry humanity.  They're supposed to be spirited family fare with just a little mischief and heart-warming character growth without heavy-handed moralizing.

     Sky High is my 2005 summer movie.  It’s adorable, fun, and puts a fresh face on a number of classic, easily recognized story lines.

     The acting is good, despite the fact that nobody was exactly stretched to the breaking point.  It’s not that kind of movie.

     It’s just a fun, cute, family summer movie.
