CNN has been blasting on and on all morning about the Marines killed in Falluja...mostly focusing on how many of them might or might not be female.

How many people think a Marine is a Marine is a Marine?
How many think it's insulting to Marines, women, and our millitary's casualties to make such a big deal about how many of them might or might not be women?
The're there, they're trained, they're volunteers, and they are doing their job, and they are getting killed. Don't make their deaths into socio-political footballs.
Maybe pressing the reality of women dying in combat under the current rules barring them from “combat roles” is one way to open up careers for women in the millitary...but I think respect should be the watchword when it comes to casualties of our service men and women.
There are other ways to advance the cause of women in the millitary
