Folding, spindeling, and mutilating lauguage for fun since Aug, 2004

I’ve gotten a couple people wondering why I haven’t said anything about New Orleans yet.

Like all things of this nature, what do you say?

What could there possibly be to say at this point and time?  A whole city destroyed, possibly thousands dead, Livelihoods, families, homes…just gone.

Should there be anger and outrage that the evacuation wasn't effective enough?  Should we get up in arms at the duration of the President’s silence right after the event?  Should there be outrage that someone obviously failed somewhere along the line to cause such a huge death toll when we knew the storm was so bad and the levees might not hold?

Maybe eventually…but not right now…at least, not for me.

I’ve tried to write, and I find that nothing seems worthwhile to put up on this blog…because there’s just nothing to say to this right now.  There’s nothing useful that I can write outside of a check.

Right now we’re just helpless while we watch and wait and hope that the people we put in charge know what they are doing.

Right now I’m just holding my breath, and praying, and trying to stay away from the T.V.

Right now I just want to cuddle my children and focus on the things in life that shouldn’t be allowed to slip past without notice…even if the world does seem like it’s falling apart.
