Oooohhh!  Snap!

I sooo want to see this debate happen.  I want to see Rush Limbagh taken down and get his chubby oxy-cotton addicted ASS handed to him by a bunch of kids that he wronged on his radio show.

But what really interested me was this quote:

"What multiculturalists is,[sic] is balkanizing this country," Limbaugh said Tuesday. "People are coming here from various parts of the world and they're bringing their cultures with them and the multiculturalists are saying 'your culture is better than the American culture. The American culture is discriminatory, it's racist, sexist, bigot, homophobic.' "

Is this seriously what he thinks a multicultural education does?  Because when I got MY multi-cultural education it was about teaching us that “your culture is part of American culture and there are racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobes out there who want to take it away from you and impose their own culture by re-writing history and saying you had nothing to do with it if you are not a male WASP.”

…which there obviously are…witness exhibit A:  Rush Limbaugh.

I mean, for all that I’ve heard them talk about “taking back their country”…his ilk really do seem to think that there were no blacks or Indians or Irish or Catholics or gays living, working, struggling to build this country and fighting wars to protect it for the first 100 years or so.

When we have tapes of Nixon and Rumsfeld talking about how blacks are just one step above swinging from the trees…Limbaugh has the GALL to accuse a multicultural curriculum of balkanizing the country?

How does saying “your ancestors were here, and they contributed”, or “welcome to our country, this is your country now, and you are going to make its greatness continue with your unique contributions” more balkanizing than “you’re one step above swinging from the trees?”

Sheesh.
