GO READ THIS I know I provide links that are sometimes rather casually interesting or informative. This is not one of them. This is required reading for anyone who cares about science, sanity, freedom of speech and/or a fun little place I like to call "consensual reality". I like living in a world that makes sense. If I wanted to live in Cool World, I'd drop acid...thank you very much.
So, there's this quote out there by Robert Murdock that there is no such thing as objective news. That it's just opinion.
And the creationists don't believe that there are ways to determine that one form of evidence is superior to another. It's just "opinion" which one is better. You like the fossil record, I like the Bible...six of one, half a dozen of the other except you're going to hell and I'm not.
And of course, the wacky conservative crowd wants to sound scientific so they substitute the word "theory" for the word "opinion"...as if they mean the same thing.
There are no objective facts...just opinions. Now, I KNEW the Fundie definition of "Theory" was looser than that of the scientific community...but THIS takes it to a whole new level of flaccidity. Apparently, a theory is just an opinion. Opinions are just theories.
Holy cow! I had no idea I was so otheoryated (TM)! I've got all sorts of theories. I just didn't know I could call them that.
Woo Hoo research grant money here I come!!!
