And the Brits call US "culturally insensitive"!?!

I guess I'm not surprised at this in Alabama.  Though I'm surprised the "boys" attacked even with the cameras running on them.

Also, in all fairness, I must point out that we lived in Alabama for several months.  There WAS an openly gay couple living in our building, and while several people mentioned to me that it was personally offensive to them, they felt it was "none of their business".  In other words, as long as it was kept private, nobody bothered anyone.  It's not like there are gangs of wild-eyed Bible-beaters running around dragging people from their beds.

But people who WOULD do that, if they just felt like they had a little encouragement appear to be everywhere.

What I worry, is that the Alabamans shown here are the sorts of people who think they should be running the country on a "values" level.  "Values" that include public stonings for a simple (or shall I say simple-minded) stunt.

Anyone who thinks that Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwen "caved" should take a good look at this, and realize that it was just the literate versions of those Alabamans that were after Amanda and Melissa.
