Via Pharyngula, which I learned of via Jason Bock (shout out to Jason whose got a sick kid on his hands. I hope Hayden is feeling better soon), I come to this “new” blog (as in, new to me) which shall shortly grace my blogroll. Respectful Insolence has an article about medicine and evolution, here:
There is a “part two” to this post, which you can get to here:
Just more evidence that the theory of natural selection s the proper line of inquiry rather than ID, which has yielded NOTHING USEFUL as opposed to the current consensus of Natural Selection, which has contributed to and served as a foundation for nearly every advancement in modern medicine.
I recently read a statement in a political blog about how some scandal or another was “another nail in coffin of the conservative cocoon” or something like that…a conservative snarkily commented that “the coffin must be pretty big, because there are soooo many nails and still it won’t stay closed.”
Why does it not surprise me that people don’t understand science, reason and logic would consider it a plus that their world view persists in spite of overwhelming evidence?
<Shakes head.>
Although, if the cocoon continues to show such regenerative properties, we could throw it in a swimming pool and possibly it could still be of use for something…preserving Wilfred Brimley, if nothing else.
