Get 'em ALL out.  Make 'em ALL pay.

The above link leads to a New York Times story that begins like this:

WASHINGTON, May 21 — The F.B.I. accused Representative William J. Jefferson, Democrat of Louisiana, on Sunday of taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes from a Kentucky businessman and stashing $90,000 from the scheme in his home freezer in Washington.

We punish people for violent crimes and property crimes in this country.  We send them to jail, sentance them to community service, put them on probation, publicly announce their crimes, and in some cases we execute them or put life-long limits on their behavior in order to both minimize the chance that they will re-offend, and to serve as a deterrant to people who might be like-minded criminals.

White collar crimes should be no different and crimes that violate our public trust and political system should be no different.

Find 'em, catch 'em, and throw the book at 'em.  That's what I say.
