"Real meaning of life...stuff" - Daniel Jackson

Ya know, I was never a fan of Wesley on ST:TNG.  I didn’t hate him like some people, it’s just that I had already known enough Wesley’s in my life, and frankly, they can be rather pompous, tiresome, and annoying…at least, that’s the way it seems when you’re an overly-competitive type “A” who lacks the brilliance of her friends, but shares their ambitions.

But I think that it is possible that Wil Wheaton could be my hero.

Wow...freaky sincronicty...I was about to go to my livejournal and write something about Wil. Just yesterday I put his blog on my laptop's 'favorites' list. He's been writing a game review column in 'The Onion' for a while now that I never fail to find amusing (often his byline is the best part of the whole thing). Plus I've read a few other things from him in the last few months that never fail to be insightful, witty, or just plain good writing.

I don't like Wesley either, and probably never really will - he was a weak character conception and even when he hit his stride, I often felt the writers were misusing him. Yet I believe Wil is a good actor, a very good writer and clearly a great guy.
