Dobson freaks out at Obama's remarks regarding separation of Church and State...and proves Obama's point.

If Biblical priciples are going to be running America...whose priciples do you want them to be?

Dobsons?

RJ Rushdoony's?

Obama?

The infamous Phelps clan?

And don't give me that BS about "Sound Doctrine".  People were arguing about "Sound Doctrine" before Jesus came along (Pharasees and Sadducees anyone?)

And Jesus came along and tried to "clear it all up" and people have been killing each other over it ever since.

Luthers "Sound Doctrine" wound up with him recommending that Jews be stripped of their rights and property, condemned to forced labor, and/or expelled from the country...and he declared that all the trouble German people suffered because of them was because they should have killed the Jews and didn't.

I also love how Dobson comes right out and says that faith-based public policy should not have to be amenable to reason.  Ya know, come to think of it, Luther said the same thing.

I actually sort of admire Dobson's honesty.

Gee, someone doesn't want to live under ALL the rules of Leviticus...

Well, Not all of the rules are so bad...

...I mean women get a free rustic vacation one week out of every month! :-)

Mark,

You've got a long wait before you can get a President who doesnt at least CLAIM to hallucinate voices telling him what to do.

The best you can do is vote for a person and hope they're lying that they head voices.

Unfortunatly, I think Bush was telling the truth.

Hi Teresa!

I see your still full bore with the pithy comments and irreligious commentary lol
This latest Dobson thing.. mildly troubling to me is Obamas disconnect with orthodox Christianity.. quoting Leviticus? He must have been out during the Bible teaching stuff.

I'm betting he could give you chapter and verse on Black Liberation theology tho..and all it's Marxist tenents and applications for the true Christian today. B.O. claims to be a Christian, but it's looking like the lefty Social Gospel type, not the Dobson variety.

NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN,

Hank

So um, who is this pinhead and does his mom know he's on the computer? Marxist tenents? The bible is against Marxists renting? Or being rented to? Can someone please tell me the biblical stance on Libertarian home ownership? I mean, I knew The Book had some good messages in it but it even speaks to such modern pressing concerns as housing issues for various political affiliations. Amazing. Simply amazing.

On a more serious note, what I've observed is that Mr. Dobson is every bit the quality of ambassador to Christianity as Mr Bin Laden is for Islam. So saying that Senator Obama is not Dobsons kind of Christian (ie hate mongering ,theocratic, book burning sort) is not exactly a stinging rebuke. Seriously, Dobson and Bin Laden should go bowling or something.

Walks off singing "Take the fundies bowling, take them bowling!"

Hey Hank.

Mr. Dobson has been taped quoting Leviticus himself. He did so when on the Larry King Show talking about the Haggard controversy. So I guess it's ok to bash gays using Leviticus, but not talk about government policies.

Don't go away mad...

Hank!

Cool to see you jumping back in the blog pool.

I missed your site, man. It's the closest I'll ever find in this world to a fundie-creo-con mosh pit.

Maybe they'll let me have one in heaven? :-)

It was fun pissing off that loony lefty chick who was pissed at the founders for not solving all of our problems for us ahead of time, and leaving work for us to do 'cause they were too busy building the tools we need. :-)

It was weird being called a cconservative, though.

Bob,

Dont let Hank get your dander up. Have fun with it.

His blog is where I met Neil, actually. Hank is kind of like Neil, if Neil said what he REALLY thought, the way Neil really wanted to say it. :-)

Just my impression.

Mark,

Did you miss the verse in Tesscolossilonians III where Jesus said:

"Verly, Verly, I say onto you, defenestrate the book of Leviticus, for shrimp are not an abomination. Especially if they are flash-fried in a combination of butter, olive oil, and garlic and served still sizzling...
...but I digress. Cast away all of the book of Leviticus, except for the bits about teh gays. I really hate those guys. That one chick who grabbed the hem of my garment ended up ruining it, and now Ive got a hem down on my garment and the damn gays won't shut up about it. Screw them. Im not lifting a finger to help them."

Seriously, watching theologins argue about Sound Doctrine (TM) is a lot like reading a strip where Calvin and Hobbs are arguing the rules of Calvinball...but without the charm and child-like whimsey.

Calvinball! Whooo hooo! What a great strip!

check this site: http://www.simplych.com/cb_rules.htm

I love this rule: 1.5 The Calvinball Field (See Calvinball Equipment - 2.3) should consist of areas, or zones, which are governed by a set of rules declared spontaneously and inconsistently by players. Zones may be appear and disappear as often and wherever the player decides. Zones are often named for their effect. For example, a corollary zone would enable a player to make a corollary (sub-rule) to any rule that has been, will be, or might be declared. A pernicious poem place would require the intruder to do what the name implies. Or an opposite zone would enable a player to declare reverse playibility on the others. (Remember, the player would declare this zone oppositely by not declaring it.) (Figure 1.5a and 1.5b)

This is Sound Doctrine's(TM) most important rule, I think.
