"Real meaning of life...stuff" - Daniel Jackson

Are you fucking kidding me?  Two reporters are going to serve 18 months in jail for not revealing their sources in the Valerie Plame case, according to the New York Times.

…and not one of them is Robert “douchebag of liberty” Novak – the guy that “broke” the story?

One of them wrote a story after Novak.  The other one investigated the story and then never wrote the piece…but Novak gets it out there first and there’s no indication that he’s even been TALKED to?

“Mr. Novak's role in the investigation, including whether he has cooperated with the authorities, remains a mystery.”

I don't know why you're shocked by this. It's been clear all along he's an apparatchik of the GOP and 'broke' this story under the direct orders of the people who really call his shots.

That's exactly why I'm shocked. It is absolutely crystal clear that that's what happened. And they are pulling it off without so much effort as an ordinary street hustler puts into pulling of a game of three-card-monte. And the press is going along with some half-assed debate on wether or not these two journalists are required morally to give up their sources.

just when I think we've gone as far as we can go down the road of public apethy and media irrelevance...we manage to go a little farther.

A certain percentage of this is less shock than outrage. I guess I could try to be blaze' abotu it but I have kids that have to live in this world when they're done with it.
