Folding, spindeling, and mutilating lauguage for fun since Aug, 2004

Today was my first visit to the allergy/athsma clinic for my immunotherapy shots.  So far, no reaction at all.  So I am very happy.  I tolerated it very well.

I also got my flu shot, which I havn't bothered to get the last couple of years.  It was very good to get it.  Now I know I will be at least somewhat protected.

I am going to have to stay on my anti-allergy medications for quite some time, I think.  However, it is nice to be finally starting down the road to a reation-free exsistance.

Man, I wish I would have had those shots when I was a kid. My nose ran like a faucet. Now I only rarely have to take Claritin to feel better, or Benadryl if I'm ready for nappy time anyway. Good luck to you! Allergies suck.

Brent considered it, but decided now that we're (unfortionately) cat free that he didn't need to. I hope it goes well and please keep posting about it.

Joe,

The main reason I have opted to have allergy shots is that I CAN'T take most allergy medicines, because they aggrivate thyroid conditions. allegra and Claritin I can take, but they don't really do much more than take the ege off. Plus, I have athsma which only really bothers me if I am having an allergic reaction, or if I have an upper respiratory infection.

Dracut,

It is really too bad that you are cat free. There's been a rash of that lately, among people that we know. It sucks when pets die.

"Sucks" is not the word for it. After a life free of allergies and a sudden onset of them three years ago I am convinced that the stories of demon possession are really stories of people with allergies. In an allergenic haze, I once had the idea that plucking out my eyes and chewing on them would feel good. I seriously thought about it. Allergy meds just make you dead. Indeed do share. If I could get rid of this fall plague I would.
