Folding, spindeling, and mutilating lauguage for fun since Aug, 2004

So, if you are auditioning for a play called The Vagina Monologues, and two beavers lumber across the six-lane freeway in front of you, nearly causing a couple of different accidents...is that a good omen or a bad one?

I swear to you, I saw two beavers gallumphing quickly across 394 on my way home from the audition tonight.  They had flat tails and everything.  It was surreal...

...and very Anomalous.

So far, no call-backs, so I'm guessing it's an ill omen.

Trees chill out ok? These things take time and you arent doin yourself any favor mentally sabotaging it. Thoughts have power hon and your thoughts are more powerful than most. WHat you need to do is tell yourself you're gonna get the gig and keep doing so. And really, how scary could it be? I know some of the stuff youve been thru, plus child birth and raising 2 kids and in every case when you have faced your fear your fear has realized it has made a HUGE mistake and has urgent pressing business far far away from the nice scary lady with the arsenal in her mini-van.

Now knock it off and go kick some ass already

The real question is, were they crossing left to right, or right to left. Plus, did you get a good look at their livers? My haruspecation skills are not the greatest, but they might be able to tell you something.

Seriously, I'm sure you did great at the audition. But don't get too emotionally invested in it until you have the part. Even the greatest living actors on earth have had to go through many auditions in which they did not get parts. It has nothing to do with how good you are or aren't, because you're great. It's just like sending out manuscripts. We writers just have to keep telling ourselves how great we are even in the face of all that rejection.

Trying puts you in a better position than most people will ever be. Because they don't even do that.

Plus, you could always kick someones ass if you wanted to.
