Just so you know, if you happen to be looking for a quaint little bakery where you can get the name “Adolf Hitler” put in icing on a children’s birthday cake, and maybe get them to throw a cute little swastika on there for good measure…and if you want them to understand that you are not a racist, you just, for some reason named your son “Adolf Hitler” and like swastikas, and your daughter’s middle name is “Aryan Nation”….

…well, if you are just looking for a little tolerance and understanding under those specific circumstances…

Rest assured…Walmart is there.  AND  I bet they say “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays” too!

For the record, a three-year-old boy should be able to have a birthday doubt about that...but he should also have parents who have enough sense not to name him Adolf Hitler.   Also, who puts a kid's full name on their birthday cake?  I don't think I know anyone who has done more than the first name.

This whole story is psycho.  Although, in fairness to Walmart, I should point out that the story says that in light of the controversy, they are reviewing their policies.

The next thing we'll hear about are the discrimination lawsuits on behalf of the family as the child grows up and goes to school and gets bullied or made fun of. Then future lawsuits as he tries to apply for jobs, loans, drivers license... people will think it's a joke... a really offensive joke... for the rest of his life. Not to mention his younger siblings.

Maybe the parents were smart. They may earn enough in lawsuits to pay for college!

What dumb-asses.

Silly, Geekgoddess!

They won't send their kids to public school! They're white supremecists! The will, naturally homeschool the children using "appropriate" materials.

Teresa, you know you're right about the home schooling!

You can't make this stuff up. Imagine if SNL were to make a skit similar to this real life situation. It probably wouldn't be very funny because Hitler stuff just isn't funny. He was way too evil a man to be made fun of - even after nearly 70 years.

But I guess we're all supposed to be "tolerant" of such people. I say to hell with that! (and them, too)

Depressing, isn't it? I used to really support homeschooling...but my entheusiasm has waned.

There are a lot of fine homeschoolers out there, but I'm afraid that there are just too many kooks for my taste.

When we first moved here, there was a very conservative State Representative who represented our area.

His name was "Adolphson".

He put his picture on everything, and he wore a tiny little Hitler moustache.

I have to admit...that the imp of the pervers that sometimes dogs me, whispering things into my ear that I should not think, kept urging me to think that was funny.

Cambell: Crooked or wry mouth, a man whose mouth inclined a little on one side. From the Gaelic "cam" meaning crooked or distorted and " beul" for mouth. Gillespie O Duibhne was the first to have borne the name, and founded clan Campbell at the beginning of the 13th century.
: )
Let's hope they teach them about being Irish!
