So Huckabee wants to amend the Constitution to line up with Biblical priciples?

At least he's honest.

Sure he's the Republican front-runner and everything but I'm not worried...

...but mostly that's because I live a mere eight-our drive from the Canadian border.

Less if I don't like my car too much.

And I don't think I'll have to rush.  We can get everything packed up and have a leisurly drive into the neighboring country long before they run out of homosexuals and witches.

True Republicans Barry Goldwater and Teddy Roosevelt warned us about injecting religion into American politics. After the decimation of our party by W and Lott and Delay and the rest of the Southern Republicans, if Huckabee is the nominee I fear they’ll be no more GOP north of the Mason-Dixon. The last Republican in NY, please shut out the lights.

I'll keep an overnight bag packed. I don't think we'll have time to pack. Our only saving grace is that there's lots of good heathens and homos to clean up in Massachusetts, so we might escape in the confusion.

Sounds like what is described in _A_Handmaid's_Tale_ by Margaret Atwood...they didn't quite make it to Canada, so, if we can take that as a warning, one can never be too careful!

Well, we've got the time between the election and the time he takes office at least. I don't think the Canadians will start closing the border until after he's sworn in....

Wow, Heinlein's prediction of America becoming a Theocracy in 2012 is sounding more and more likely.

And to think, I thought the news about the description of the new "Star Trek" trailer was the worst thing I heard in a while. Nothing like a big heaping dose of perspective to knock your brain back into place...

Trees...

Glad I didn't read this before I went to bed. I wouldn't have slept for the nightmares. Call us when you're planning to leave, we'll make it a wagon train of sorts. I'll start brushing up on my French.

Oh... and happy anniversary to you and Lugash!

Tony I., Thanks for stopping by! Welcome to my blog!

Dracut, the puritan zombie hordes will be shuffeling toward Salem, so if you can get a head start...

Karen, If it's an analogy to the Handmaiden's Tale...even better. I'm no longer fertile, they'll just let me walk!

Kaji, went to your site, saw the Torchwood trailer. That was Hawt! Thanks! :-)

Tony B. Yeah. I don't think it'll take that long.

Kristi, Thanks...20 years. Holeeee cow.

re: Handmaid's Tale potentialities

(And there would have to be more fertility/population issues for this to come into play completely anyway. It's been a long time since I read it, but I know it couldn't happen overnight.)

We may be old and worn out, but will you help me get my five- and seven-year-old daughters out of the country, at least? :)

Kaji,

Absolutly, anythin fe mah little sistahs. All "Handmaiden" hyperbole aside: Control of the country by theocratic religionists wouldn't end well for anybody.

Even us old and "orn-out" ladies...why, just go on over to JJKaiser's blog and take a look at his assessment of the Code Pink ladies. Basically, he makes it clear that a high doablility score is the only possibility for a woman's value.
