Skip over the book-burning part of the story of how America slides into middle-ages-style era of ignorance, superstition and illiteracy.

That’s so Nazi Brownshirt.  Who’s interested in that?

Let’s get right to getting rid of the educators.  Say what you want about Pol Pot and Stalin…at least they understood that books weren’t dangerous if people couldn’t read them.  And they didn’t have funny mustaches.  Well, Pol Pot didn’t anyway.

Wonder what the hell I’m talking about now?  Go here and look:

This lady has the right idea; grab the first bus out of crazytown.  Anyone who can teach the Opera Faust to grade-schoolers – with SOCK PUPPETS for Ghod’s sake- should be given a frackin’ medal, not accused of Satanism and lesbianism and suspended from her job.

Thing is, I'm seeing that kind of wacky fundamentalism everywhere these days. People are allowing themselves to be willfully ignorant and self-righteous because it frees them up from actually having to challenge themselves.

As a guy who is working on a mid-life career change, do I even have to explain why I have no respect for that attitude?
