Up late night drinking with Sue.  Really drunk.  Four Colorado Bulldogs.

Promised not to reveal what she talked about…but it got me thinking…

Am I zen because I can accept the totality of my experience as me…

Or can I accept the totality of my experience as me because right now it’s good and easy?

If the shit hit the fan again…would I become someone I don’t like/respect once again?

Am I who I think I am?

Answer:  All self is impermanent.  Concept of self is a conceit.  You are who you are from moment to moment.  Who you will be tomorrow is dependant on acceptance of being.  Striving, self-concept and fear are antithetical to this.  Self doubt is a sign of not being…but of striving and self-concept, which should be abandoned.

So the answer is:  "No, you’re not there yet."

I'm not enlightened AND I have to wake up again in three hours??

Crap.

A-ha! I only had two Colorado Bulldogs last night. A couple more, and I would have learned super-deep stuff about myself.

Alas- there's just not enough available time to commit to heavy alchohol consumption in the quest for personal growth.

On the plus side I discovered what's wrong with this country. (Besides the obvious.) Not enough bulldog drinking.

I stand by my original thought - soon to be copyrighted- "Trees for President!"

Yes. and YOU can be my Press Secretary out front in the middle of the week explaining the POTUS' new late-night public policy blog post that details her bold new "Open Bars and Clear Tabs" initiative...

Sue: "The President was quoted out of context. What she meant to say was: 'I will stop at nothing to fix Social Security.'"

Helen Thomas: "Wait. The President was misquoted in her own blog? How is that possible?"

Sue: "I think we can safely say that the anti-Presidency biase of the press has reached that level. Yes."

heh.
