Folding, spindeling, and mutilating lauguage for fun since Aug, 2004
Friday, October 29, 2004

I’ve had several ideas of things to write about, but  I’m afraid that the brain ferrets have been playing about…you know, when you can’t keep a straight thought in your head for more than five seconds, and things just seem to spin around and around without going anywere?  Yeah...

It’s really just a couple of things that have been throwing me off.  I’m starting to panic about Nanowrimo…I’ve only got the first ten chapters outlined, and I’m supposed to be writing this bad boy in three days.  Eeep.

So, on to other things, because distraction is good…for now.  I’ve been thinking for a while now about something, and I thought that sharing this ramble would be more fun than hammering the nuts and bolts of a plot into place.

These last few days  before the election seem to be just dragging by.  At this point, I just want it to be over.  I’ve got issue fatigue something fierce.  I’m sick of hearing about them.  I’m sick of thinking about them, and I’ve been spun ‘til I’m ready to throw up.

I just want to go to the polls, make my marks like a good little monkey, and then come back home and pull the covers over my head and wait until someone can knock on the door and tell me who the Supreme Court says we have to listen to for the next four years.

Sigh.

Don’t mind me, this is a temporary funk and I’ll feel better soon.

The next four years? The Supremes are in place for life, so we'll be dealing with whatever new appointees get selected for, like, twenty years.

But, no pressure.

THREE days? Did I miss something in your diary somewhere? Usually it's about 30.

Good luck on your effort!

Ooooh boy am i in bad shape if I can't make myself better understood than this.

I meant, I'm supposed be writing it in three days...not done writing it in three days...as in start it, not finish it. :-)

And yes...I was alluding to the seeming likelyhood that we will once again have a supreme earthly ruler installed by the Supreme Court.

Gotta love language and ways of interpretation, no? ;)

Yeah...

Evil Cub is doing Nanowrimo as well. He's doing a super-hero novel. Maybe I should just give up on writing my own novel, and instead be a character in his.

I can be the amazing ambiguous language girl...More inarticluate than ten fomer Texas Governors, faster at confusing tenses than a schmuck character in one of those stupid time-traveling episodes of your favorite sci-fi show...able to parse straightforward concepts into statements that can be interpreted several different ways...

...yeah...

my side-kick could be dangeling participle lad...

...wait...when did this become a Laural K. Hamilton novel?!?

Trees just chillthe frig out ok? In the first place you've got moretalent than half the schmucks cluttering up the store shelves with their drek. In the second it is called WRITE a novel month. As in get the words out of that dark and scary cobweb strewn attic atop your neck and ONTO THE PAGE. Dont sweat the outline, dont sweat anything but turning the words in your head into the words on the page. If I didnt think you could do it I wouldnt be taking the time to say this after busting my ass ten hours today at work. Now quitcherbitchin, stop screwin around and get started.

Ummm...I don't think I have room in my outline for Confusing Language Lass or her partner Dangling Participle Lad...although I *could* see a person who has the ability to cause spoken communication to be confused or unintelligable as a viable Extra. The good news is, I have lots of room for minor/background characters.
