Via The Panda's Thumb, which I have in my blog roll over there on the right, which I found via Jason Bock's blog a while back...

I get a link to this article.

You don't need condoms to prevent HIV or clean needles or innoculations, or any of that communist crap like a Surgeon general or government health organizations.

All you need to do is only eat the food that Adam and Eve had in the garden (except that one in the middle of the garden, of course), be monogamous, and limit meat.

Yep, an apple a day, marital fidelity and eschewing chewing on a hamburger will keep that bird flu far away from you.

God says so, and that's good enough for me.

Whee! Well, like the author of the article I can see the sense of his list of six recommendations. Eat well, exercise, keep the alcohol and nicotine intake low, and don't sleep around a lot. (What did I miss?) I can see those helping you to live a healthier life. But the whole religious angle? Whee!!!!!!!!!!

His recommendations are good, but prevention can only go so far! You also need to respond to a disease once it is present and the recommendations can no longer provide specific protection.

Ex.

Recommendation:
In the United States, drive on the right side of the road, and do not cross the double yellow line in the center of the road.

Exception requiring additional treatment:
If the semi-truck has entered your lane, feel free to cross the double yellow line to avoid a collision!
