Mothers, don’t let your sons grow up to be men who respect women.

Author of a book that tells parents to teach their sons not to be dominated by women aims the message of the book at mothers because “they can have a huge influence in guiding their sons to be strong, godly men and leaders in their future families.”

In further news, the author expressed ignorance of the exact definition of “irony”. *

*not really, that's a satirical comment.

It would be interested to see what the woman has actually written. It seems that her main beefs are that in entertainment TV, women dominate men and men are immature. I agree that this is a problem (if one is actually taking these men as role-models). I think that men and women should have equal roles, and I think that everyone should grow up to be a mature adult. On the other hand, I think that everyone, in addition to being a mature adult, should know how to have fun and enjoy life from time to time like a child, as long is it doesn't hurt them or anyone else.

Moderation in everything!

I wonder what the author would say about Bolivia? There the men are brought up with this whole machismo thing and don't generally learn how to do household stuff like cooking and cleaning; that's women's work! I personally think that this leaves the men helpless and immature for all of their lives, being passed from the capable hands of their mothers to those of their wives. However, as they sit there drinking beer on mothers' day as the women prepare and serve the feast, they consider themselves "real men".
