"Real meaning of life...stuff" - Daniel Jackson

I just heard a great speech on NPR.

The speaker was Dr. Marcia Angell, and she was speaking about her book Confronting Drug Company Deception.

The above link will take you to the archives of the Commonwealth Club of California archive site, where you can listen to her speech (Confronting Drug Company Deception, Oct. 5, 04)

It’s very informative.  There are other archived speeches on there as well, and I would love to listen to a number of them…someday I might have time.

I’ve decided that Nano’s not something I can do this month.  Between deer hunting, and Rocky being sick, and the auditions, and the fact that in a week we are hosting Thanksgiving, and I’ve got what can only be described as an assload of housework to do…

I’m still shooting to average 2000 words a day, but I’m not looking to make up the days missed…It’s just too much with the kids, and homework and daily life stuff.

Didn’t go to the gym today, but I DID go to Kung Fu…so that makes it even.  I will go tomorrow.

Even though I don't have a lot of housework to do, kids to take care of, Thanksgiving to host, deer to hunt, or any of that other stuff, I'm terribly disappointed that you're giving up on Nano.

Okay, maybe not. If you keep working as much as you can, that's what matters. And who knows, you might have a big breakthrough and do 10,000 words in a day.

Okay, what really matters is that I'll be a 'winner' in about three or four days.

While Im with Cub in his disappointment Trees I too counsel you to not feel bad . You're doing your best and thats all anyone can do. For myself, Im so far behind it aint gonna happen either. BUt Im trying for an hour or so a day. Yesterday I discovered what that BFG Marcus had at the bar with him did, a quick peek into the mind of a Deepdowner, and Im not sure but I think there might be Amish people in Downbelow.

I make my own head hurt some days.
