Someone actually referred to the "Day of Silence" as the "Day of violence"?

I mean, with their outside voice and everything?

Apparently NOT SAYING ANYTHING is now a violent act, of persecution against Christians.

So, let me get this straight (so to speak)...if a school does not break up a student-lead protest that consists of simply SITTING QUIETLY in the classroom to express their beliefs, it is an act of violence against Christians...

...but if Christians finally got their wish and passed a law MANDATING that children sit quietly in the classroom and pray, why, that's just "Traditional American values".  And anyone who doesn't like it is just complaining over nothing.

No wonder some Christians want to boycott it...they're insane.  Instead of keeping your good Christian boy or girl out of school on one day so they don't have to listen to people NOT talking about GBLT...why don't you just take them out of school and homeschool them so that they can't beat the crap out of GLBT kids on the other days?  Oh right, it would be taking away their right to free expression.

Reading the brief info on the christian slant, it didn't sound too bad. The "being silent only for christians" bit was strange though. But if they want to be silent to show that persecution, bullying and intimidation isn't right against ANY peaceful and lawful group, then I say ok.

Dracut,

If that was what they were saying, then I'd say OK, too. Even if they wanted to have a "Day of Silence for the persecuted Church" on another day. Good on ya then. I might even participate myself in solidarity to show that even non-Christians don't like it when people are persecuted just for being Christian.

But the intent of this is to try to bury the student's protest (also, disinformation, saying kids are "forced" to be silent, etc. If that is happening in a school, a stop should be put to it...but that's not what it's about. It's a day for kids to express themselves peacfully and non-disruptivly on this subject.)

The main place I know of where the church is persecuted -- besides China, which persecutes all faith traditions -- is ... Iraq.

And any idiot who uses the word "persecuted" and church in the sane sentence in reference to the U.S. church (and some do), just needs to have his ass whipped.

What I'm finding ironic and/or hypocritical is that these idiots are decrying "people being forced to self censor". Never mind the fact that noone is being forced to participate in the event. I wonder, is it that they don't like people being forced to self censor in support of the so-called "gay agenda" (what is that anyway, free mojitos and tasteful decor for all?) instead of THEIR agenda? In the immortal words of Mr. George Carlin "Thats OUR f****in' job!"

Hypocrites.
