OK, I’m back. 

You just can't go for very long absorbed in your own problems and funks without coming across someone whose problems will snap you out of your own self-absorbtion.

 This story found via Robert Wagner’s LJ has got me going again.

The story is about Allen, a 20-year-old with Cystic Fibrosis.  Here is a link to his website.

All I can think of is the Terri Schaivo case, and how the politics of a whole nation were hijacked to save the life of a brain-dead woman…and here’s this kid fighting for his life and begging for help, and he sees nothing.

Tom DeLay, Bill Frist, Jeb Bush, become my heroes and fight for this kid the way you fought for Terri.

Oh right, Allen’s not a good candidate for your political grandstanding, is he?  Because he can talk for himself and you can’t put your words into his mouth.  All he’s got is the will to live, the desire to live, and something to live for.

I'd like to ask everyone who has a blog to meme this kid's website, and if you have a few spare bucks or have a few extra minutes to write a letter, please do so.  As Bob Wagner said, there's no reason why, in the greatest country on earth some kid should have to die because his life isn't worth stretching the bottom line.

Even if his Health Care coverage won't pay, maybe someone out there will.  There's got to be a solution.
