"Real meaning of life...stuff" - Daniel Jackson

Today I went to a funeral.  A little boy from our Kung Fu school went into his dad’s bedroom on his eleventh birthday to wake his father up.  His father was dead, of insulin shock.  I can’t conceive of a God who is so involved in our world as to be designing every change and minutia by hand…and would make this happen.  There is no such God.

There is no God so cruel, so arrogant, so blind to the needs of his creation that he would create diabetes, and use insulin shock to smite a good and decent man in the prime of his life and make that little boy suffer.

And anyone who worships such a God is not only a false believer, but just as sick as the God he imagines.

Whatever God is, that’s not him.

"God's ways are mysterious and beyond our comprehension" should NOT be a panacea to make us comfortable with our ignorance, but instead a challenge to spur us on to greater knowledge and understanding.
